A. They Knights of the Round Table were ordained and their seiges blessed by the Bishop of Canterbury.

Q. Explain the significane of Leodegrance's gift to Arthur.

A.  His gift was a Round Table, which Uther of Pendragon gave to him. When the Round Table is completed, it will have one hundred and fifty knights.  The gift wasn't lands or money, but a Round Table which was   significantly given by his father to Leodegrance.

Q.  The King Arthur legends tell of a time in the early history of England when a belief in magic was supplanted by a belief in Christianity. What elements do you find of both magic and religion in this legend?

A.  I think the Holy Grail is both.  It's located in Castle Corbenic. There they saw a vision in where Joseph of Arimathea appeared as a priest. Angels brought in the Grail and the bloody spear that had pierced Christ's side during the Crucifixion. A child appeared above the Grail and changed into bread. Then Christ emerged from the cup and gave Communion to the men. The vision was meant to prove that, in the Mass, the bread and wine are changed into the body and blood of Christ.

Understanding Chivalry:

Q. In your own words, summarize the code of conduct that Arthur established for his knights.

A.  The code of conduct was a plague saying that know man should do wrong.  It also said that if a person was to ask for mercy that you should grant him his wish. Also the knight should not do any evil himself.

Q. How does Merlin's response to King Arthur about marrying Guenevere fit in with the idea of chivalry?

A.  He knew that Guenevere would be disloyal to King Arthur.  He tried to warn him about this because Guenevere loved another and he loved her back.

Q. Is chivalry alive in the modern world?  Use examples to support your answer.

A. Yes.  Some people are loyal to others like their friends for example.  When you are loyal to them, they will be loyal back to you if they are a good friend.
